Create the Colours You see
For 5 months I’ve been a covid refugee. It gave me the opportunity to work on something I have long wanted to do and that is share my love of painting.
Painting from nature has a profound affect on the painter. It gets you more in touch with the world around you. Suddenly everything looks more interesting. You find yourself taking photos much more and they have a purpose. You start tracking plants down and working out when they flower. The light hitting those plants gets you thinking about how to create colours and what makes a good composition.
Once you focus on the mind, it is amazing where it can take you.
When you can get outside, familiarise yourself with the plants where you are. What attracts your eye? Why does that one grab you? What can you learn about it?
I made some bonus lesson videos on colour to help you understand how to familiarise yourself with colour and make it easier to use. The first ‘Create the Colours You See’ is available now.
