Art & Life Interview with Christine Sullivan
Christine Sullivan is one of Australia’s leading performers and vocalists. A gifted, accomplished, versatile, unique and popular personality in the Australian music industry. She has made five acclaimed recordings, performed at major jazz venues and festivals in Australia and internationally. Christine spends her time between Australia, Brooklyn and NYC - living, writing, recording, producing and teaching.
I use to frequent the Limerick Arms on Thursday nights and be floored by her totally amazing vocals. Since then she has gone on to great things.
Her book The Singers Companion: Personal Wisdom from the Global Music Industry, is a rich and rewarding deep dive into the singers world and includes 112 contributing singers, musicians and producers. It is a must for singers and those who love the Australian music scene. See the book link
I also include the link to Gordon Harvey’s interview telling Christine’s story - Portrait of an Artist on the Simply Music website
Christine feels Art sets her free. What do you think art does for you?
