We use nature - specifically Australian native plants, to help us learn about colour and to create 6 realistic paintings. The tools you will learn can be applied to any subject. The course includes full step by step video instruction, reference photos, plus written manual and online learning network group. The online network makes you feel part of a group learning together as you share your work and see how differently people interpret the lessons.

When you enrol you immediately get the Orientation Module to help you get set up, practice some of the skills you will need and prepare yourself to paint. Every fortnight after that you receive the instructions for a new painting 1-6.

Meet Celia

A friend booked me into a mystery sketching tour of Melbourne and I was hooked. I new straight away that I wanted to paint what I loved - Australian plants. From my paintings I made Australian gifts for my corporate clients that flew around the world.

From showing the beauty of Australian flora to entice people to use more Australian natives in their garden, to portrait projects acknowledging excellence and highlighting the need for action and change painting is the medium I use to engage what matters to me. I want to create art to inspire others to see beauty and to want more of it in the world.

My successful business as a communication facilitator taught me that breaking ideas into bite size chunks and making information logical and simple, might seem obvious, but it is a game changer. So it is with learning and creativity. Understanding how the brain engages with the creative process can help unlock your internal artist. Let me show you.

What level of experience do I need to do this course?

None.  You can do this course with no experience or with quite a lot of experience and still learn a lot and have fun creating these beautiful paintings. The online group is there for you to ask questions, share what you learn and get support.

Who should join?

Anyone ready to have a go, young or old.  With step by step instructions including videos and a supportive online group participants will learn to paint with confidence and to see nature around them differently.

When?

Enrolment is Open Now!  You get access to the Orientation module on sign up which gives everything you need to  get set up with materials, your creative space and how to’s. Orientation and Module 1 comes at the start and then 6 modules that cover a painting start to finish in each module.  
I don’t want you to feel under pressure to get a painting finished every week so I plan to send out the modules fortnightly.  You can cover the modules at your own pace.  In this way I hope the user group is at a roughly similar pace and can work together.  You can also join our private FaceBook Group 'How to Paint With Acrylics' to share your work, ask questions and feel part of a group.

What if I have to miss a session?
No problem. The modules are released every fortnight but you don’t have to have finished that painting in the fortnight. You have the flexibility to learn at your own pace but also to pave a peer group to work together with in the online group. You will still have access to the lessons for a year. I plan to run the course again next year so hopefully you can join in again for free if you wish (dates to be advised).

What does the course include?

The course uses video and written material to support you to create beautiful paintings.  There are 56 videos and time-lapse of creating the paintings (over 70 hours of video condensed to 7 hours).  We will have an online user group to share your work, ask questions and see how others interpret the same lessons. We start with an orientation module and then the 6 modules each covering the creation of a realist painting of Australian Flora beginning to end.

The techniques you will learn can be used to paint portraits or landscape, still life, but we start with nature.

Orientation: Covers materials and getting ready with exercises in blending, creating colour palettes, making space for creativity in your life and more. This will be sent to you on sign up so you can get started immediately.

Modules 1 - 6 each cover creating 1 painting. Each module has step by step Instruction videos for each part of the process and time-lapse videos of the creation of the painting.  The paintings we create are chosen to cover different aspects of painting eg. painting folds, creating depth, blending, colour intensity, shadows, smooth lines etc.

We cover everything you’ll need to create a painting and then we do it 6 times, creating 6 paintings, to make sure you’ve got it!

Yes. The program starts with the orientation module and you can get a full refund before module 1 starts no problem.
