Come for a walk and be soothed and inspired ...

I want to share four things with you:

  • Come for a walk

  • Learn something new

  • Listen to something new

  • Treasure a hero

Come for a walk in the Manaroa Botanic Gardens…

Having just moved to Boroondara I’m exploring the parks and of course native flora in the area.  There are great walking tracks along the Yarra river and over 28 public parks and reserves - most notably the Maranoa Botanic Gardens.  I am interested in urban proximity to native flora and with Maranoa an all native garden, I am pretty lucky.

I’ve made this little video to share my walk in the rain forest section on a rainy June day with you.

Learn to Create Video with Confidence

The Colour in Your Life team, who have successfully broadcast their TV art show on networks all over the world (including my episode), invited me to make a course with them.  The course objective is to get you confident in connecting with others through video.

Video is the easiest tool for creatives to connect with their tribe.  It engages more people than anything else online - almost 5 billion videos are watched on YouTube every single day.  For artists it means we can get on with our work while connecting with like minded people - collectors, those who share your passion and other artists.

In the course we cover:

  • How to present in front of a camera

  • Getting your message across

  • Filming using camera or smartphone

  • Editing

  • How to take your art career to the next level

A team of experienced presenters show you how to get into video - whether at the high end with studio and TV or simply with the accessibility of your smartphone.  The most important thing is to get started.

I know so many artists who feel they need to get online - well this is the tool that will make it so much easier. Use the button below for my special link to the course.

A Sound Track for Living

If you watch my videos and courses you will often hear music from Aquiline - created by composer Gordon Harvey (like the little video above).  Gordon has a new album out (if it were vinyl I’d already have worn it thin) of reflective soothing music. It’s called ‘In Memory’.

Gordon has let us use this link to listen to one of my favourite tracks with the wonderful Christine Sullivan singing. Click this link to listen and watch ‘Before the Fire’

Vale Graeme Steven’s OAM

My friend, mentor, collaborator, promoter, larrikin Graeme Steven’s AO has died.  Graeme was a master painter who created an art TV show Colour in Your Life that is on networks all over the world and as you may know even going to the moon.  Graeme’s idea was to ‘Build a library of the minds of artists to preserve a digital record of creative spirit, culture and techniques for future generations.’ and he did it.  He didn’t just have an idea he carried it off with aplomb.  He connected people all over the globe and inspired so many people to create art, collect it and just enjoy it. What an amazing legacy from a truly inspiring individual.

Graeme’s death came as a shock even though I new about his health challenges - we had been chatting on the phone just days before he died.  His loved ones, colleagues and friends have been so wonderfully supportive to him through this last two years.  Graeme was still doing Live painting demos on Patreon each week regardless of the challenges for him. He was just so driven by his passion for art and sharing it with all of us. My heartfelt condolences to Graeme’s family and loved ones. Learn more about Graeme’s amazing life.
